@PAPEDO’S COFFEE

  • We are a Native American family who are members of the Lipan Apace Band of Texas. We are not federal recognized or state recognized however have great connections rooted in our ancestry.       
  • Coffee is more than a drink to us—it’s a way of bringing people together. Coffee was not native to the Apache or the Americans. It was indigenous to the Ethiopian region.  
  • The Lipan Apache were introduced to coffee through Spanish colonists and missionaries in Texas during the 18th century, and later through intimate trade and military alliances with Texan settlers and the Texas Rangers in the 19th century. Coffee was heavily utilized as a peace offering and trade currency during treaty negotiations between the Texans and the Lipan. 
  • As Native Americans, we were raised with a deep appreciation for community, tradition, and sharing something meaningful with others. That same spirit inspired our love for coffee and our desire to create something special that we could share with everyone.

  • Our journey began with a simple passion: great coffee. We carefully seek out some of the finest coffee beans from around the world, choosing beans known for their exceptional taste, rich aroma, and unique character. From the moment you open the bag to the last sip in your cup, we want every experience to be something you remember. 
  • We take pride in serving coffee that is crafted with care and served with heart. Every cup represents our dedication to quality, our love for coffee, and our commitment to our customers.
